How to Shop Mermade
There are a few ways to discover Mermade Pearl Studio.
Mermade is a Christchurch pearl jewellery studio specialising in contemporary pearl design, with a focus on baroque, keshi and naturally individual pearls. We work primarily with freshwater pearls, alongside limited-edition saltwater pearls selected for their rarity, character and distinctive presence.
Rather than producing large permanent collections, we work in small batches and release pieces in limited quantities. Many designs begin with the pearls themselves, so once a particular shape, colour or batch is gone, it may not return in quite the same form.

Our scheduled Christchurch markets are where you’ll find the widest selection of Mermade designs in person, including new releases, one-off pieces and small-batch collections.
Each market edit is a little different, depending on what has recently been made in the studio.
If something catches your eye, keep in mind that we don’t endlessly reproduce every design.

Each location carries its own edit of the collection, so what you discover will vary from place to place.
We are gradually adding new stockists in carefully chosen locations, making Mermade easier to encounter beyond our scheduled market days while keeping each selection considered and limited.
Private Studio Appointments in Christchurch
Our Christchurch studio is a working design space rather than a traditional retail shop and is not open for casual walk-ins.
Private appointments are ideal if you are looking for something more particular — perhaps a specific pearl, an alteration to an existing design, a custom piece, bridal work, or a one-of-a-kind design created for a special occasion.
It is a more personal way to experience Mermade, with time to explore pearls, proportions, lengths and details that may not be available through our ready-to-wear collections.
Pearl Workshops in Christchurch
Mermade also hosts regular pearl workshops at our Christchurch studio.
Workshops offer a hands-on opportunity to choose your own pearls and create a piece in the studio, either individually or as part of a private group.
